This ghostly dance is great for your level 1 Beginning String Orchestra with added xylophone part. Have a fall concert and show what your students can do. There are few notes, all violins play the same part with viola, cello and bass playing. A super practice for technique including pizzacato in all instruments, quarter and eighth notes, staccato notes, played in a minor key, unison and harmony. The xylophone gives a new depth to the piece but is optional and can be played without. Cello and bass parts are doubled in case you don’t start bass until later.
